FANCO-16 V5 =========== V5 is one machine. Choose a program, load it, and run it. There is no hardware-version selector and no per-program compatibility mode. The CPU, framebuffer, blitter and timer use the v3 instruction set. SIREN replaces the sound implementation. Its factory settings retain the SID-style interface at 0040-005F. Native generator cores occupy 0100-01FF. Mixing, filters and delays occupy 0200-02F3. Phase-restart flags occupy 0070-0071. Ten touch slots occupy 0080-00A7. Audio-to-RAM capture occupies 00D0-00E7. 02F4-02FF and 0400-0BFF are ordinary RAM. There is no old-map alias. Existing stored v3 programs retain their original bytes and IDs. The native sound window was formerly ordinary RAM, however. An old program using 0100-02F3 as scratch storage may configure sound. V5 does not silently rewrite programs or switch maps. Capture DMA writes RAM; choose a buffer that does not overlap code or other data. Earlier 0400-map checks do not prove this compact map's compatibility. The arcade lists server uploads live. The SIREN 0100 Synth + Drums + Scope program uses the same loader as games. ID: 0xf22a524e. It has four-note keyboard polyphony plus four drum generators and dual-tap effects. Keyboard filtering is shared. PAD SOLO and FLUTE SOLO are altered compact presets. Kick and volume ramps run in guest code. Audio-to-RAM capture now occupies D0-E7. The stereo scope draws from captured RAM. The historical 0400-map synth is not a compact-map app. Six sound-graphics prototypes are available at /v5/graphics.html: SIREN Paint, Wave Loom, Sound Terrain, Echo Garden, Stereo Radar and Wave Detective. Start enables the audio clock; output stays muted until you unmute. CLASSIC SYNTH ------------- Open /v5/synth.html for a CS01-inspired monophonic panel and live hex/bit editor. This is a visual homage running SIREN, not exact Yamaha-chip emulation. SYNTH.txt explains the controls and limits. Developer mode retains source editing, uploading, telemetry and a capacity test. The test includes actual canvas writes and full native SIREN synthesis. Its result is a measured budget, not a guarantee under heat, backgrounding or every possible workload. Audio starts without blocking the machine. When audio is unavailable, a wall clock keeps the machine running silently. Pause freezes virtual time and clears pending output. Read SPEC.txt for the CPU and memory map. Read SOUND.txt for SIREN's registers.
